I am a licensed psychologist (NY, NJ) providing individual psychotherapy to adults via video only. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from Georgetown University and my masters and doctoral degrees from Fordham University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship in Clinical and Community Psychology at Yale Medical School, Department of Psychiatry, and my postdoctoral training in Clinical Health Psychology at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. I have worked in various mental health and medical treatment settings and have experience providing both individual and group supervision to social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, medical students, residents, and other trainees.
I am devoted to helping people manage a variety of life challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relationship issues. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches and also have specialized training in health psychology to assist with issues such as adjustment to chronic illness, health behavior change, insomnia, chronic pain, and behavioral smoking cessation.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is essential to treatment success. You and I will work together to understand your experience, what has brought you to treatment, and to create meaningful goals. I take an integrative approach to therapy practice, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, behavioral, and psychodynamic frameworks. Therapeutic work may involve psychoeducation, practice and implementation of skills and strategies, or more abstract insight-oriented work at a deeper level. I work within both short and long-term frameworks depending on your goals.
The process begins with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to determine if we may be a good fit. All sessions following the initial phone consultation are conducted via video. The first two sessions are assessment-based and typically last 60 minutes. All following sessions are typically 50 minutes.
I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. Payment is required at the time of service. You may have out-of-network benefits through your insurance carrier. I will provide you with a detailed receipt including diagnosis and session codes to submit to your insurance carrier to assist with reimbursement.
Questions to ask your insurance carrier prior to beginning treatment:
1. Do I have out-of-network coverage?
2. Is there a deductible I must first meet? If so, how much is this? How much have I already met?
3. What percentage will I get reimbursed?
4. Is there a limit to the number of sessions I can have?
